Live-in nurse sharing morning tea with an elderly man on a Bali villa terrace

In twelve years of nursing I have seen where families burn out: not on the big medical events, but on the 3 a.m. wake-ups, the lifting, the constant low-level worry. A live-in arrangement fixes exactly that. One of our nurses moves into your villa, learns your parent's rhythms within days, and carries the routine — washing, medication, meals, exercises, night response — so the family can go back to being family. It is the most complete form of home care we offer, and for many of our long-term clients it is what made staying in Bali possible at all.

What's Included

Round-the-Clock Presence

Structured care through the day and a nurse within calling distance at night. For clients who need frequent night interventions, we recommend a two-nurse rotation.

Full Daily Living Support

Hygiene, dressing, meals, hydration, toileting, transfers and gentle activity — the entire daily routine, carried consistently by one familiar person.

Clinical Tasks per Doctor's Plan

Vital signs, medication administration, wound dressing, catheter care and injections — performed exactly as prescribed by the treating doctor and logged in writing.

Family Communication

A short WhatsApp report every day, a structured summary every week, and an immediate call whenever something changes. No surprises.

What a Live-In Arrangement Needs From You

Three practical things. First, a private room for the nurse — it does not need to be large, but rest matters for the quality of care. Second, meals (shared family meals are fine) or a modest food allowance. Third, a weekly rest day: live-in nurses work a six-day rhythm, and we can provide a relief caregiver for the seventh day or a visiting nurse to cover it.

For a full month or longer we usually propose a rotation of two nurses who share the same written care plan, so there is never a gap. Live-in care combines naturally with home physiotherapy sessions and covers everything a post-surgery recovery requires when the patient needs more than daily visits.

How We Start

  1. Describe the situation on WhatsApp

Who needs care, their condition, the villa location and when you would like to start. We answer the same day.

  2. Assessment at your home

A senior nurse assesses the client, the home and the night-time needs, and recommends a single nurse or a two-nurse rotation honestly.

  3. Care plan agreed with your doctor

Clinical tasks, medication schedule, escalation contacts and daily routine — all in writing, all aligned with the treating doctor.

  4. The nurse moves in

We usually start within 24–48 hours of confirmation. The first week is a trial period — if the match doesn't feel right, we change the nurse, not the plan.

Pricing

Live-in care starts from IDR 15,000,000 per month for a single-nurse arrangement. Shorter terms: two weeks from IDR 8,500,000, a trial week from IDR 4,500,000. A two-nurse rotation for heavy night needs is quoted individually. All rates and what they include are on the pricing page.

Please note: For medical emergencies call 112 or go to the nearest hospital — home nursing is not emergency care. All clinical tasks are carried out according to the instructions of your treating doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a live-in nurse cost in Bali?
From IDR 15,000,000 per month, including six days a week of full daily care and night response. A trial week is from IDR 4,500,000 — see pricing for details.
Does the live-in nurse sleep at night?
Yes — a single live-in nurse sleeps but responds immediately when needed, which suits clients with occasional night needs. If your parent needs help many times every night, we will honestly recommend a two-nurse rotation instead.
What does the nurse need at our villa?
A private room, meals or a food allowance, and one rest day per week (we can provide relief cover). That's all — the nurse brings her own basic equipment.
Is there a minimum period?
One week. Many families start with a trial week after hospital discharge or a health scare, then continue monthly once they see how it works.
Can a live-in nurse care for someone with dementia?
Yes — we assign nurses with dementia-specific training and build the routine around familiarity and calm. More on the dementia care page.
